Finding Your Place on Earth with Emakina

Emakina, in collaboration with Versus Production and O’brother Distribution, set up an online and offline communication campaign for the release of « A Place on Earth » (Une Place sur la Terre) with lead actor Benoît Poelvoorde on September 4th in Belgian theatres. The agency was asked to imagine, design and develop the promotional website of the movie. The website has been online since the 18th of July and is also available on Android and iOS devices.

Find your own Place on Earth! And win a camera…

Emakina chose to develop a one pager responsive & dynamic website which immediately takes visitors in the heart of the movie. Developed in HTML5 under a WordPress CMS, the website features regular updates and gathers all relevant & latest information in one place: actors’ bios, trailers, pictures, news, interviews & contest. The website is available in both Dutch and French. Emakina has also set-up and handles the community management of the Facebook page of the movie.

« A Place on Earth » tells the story of Antoine, a disillusioned photographer who goes through life warily in the hope of finding his place in this world. Around this theme, Emakina has created an original photo competition based on Google geolocation. The website gives visitors the opportunity to localize the place where they long to be, and to illustrate it with a picture. Once uploaded, they have the possibility to share this picture on Facebook and Twitter, to encourage people to vote for their Place on Earth. Pictures are all placed on a map with the famous Google localization marker. The more votes a picture reaps, the bigger the marker. The contest ends on the 3rd of September at 23:59. The winner will win a Nikon D3100 reflex photo camera.

 

Exclusive posters and stickers

Besides the online communication, Emakina has developed an offline promotion strategy, from concept to implementation. The original street action further boosts attention for the film. From July 15th and until the film’s release in theatres, the agency will handle the distribution of posters and stickers in various buzy areas (bars, cinemas, art galleries etc.) in the heart of 4 major Belgian cities: Brussels, Liège, Namur and Mons. Three phases of distribution are planned to maintain the buzz around the movie throughout the summer. A special A0 poster will also be located in each of the 4 cities.
